Women's Car Insurance
Women’s car insurance has risen to prominence in recent times
due to the fact that women make less insurance claims than men and
when women do claim the claims are for smaller amounts of money
therefore a variety of insurance companies have sought to take advantage
of this information and broader the car insurance market by offering
cheaper insurance than males. This is partly due to the fact that
women clock up fewer miles and are less likely to be involved in
potentially risky driving behaviours such as driving without a seat
belt. On average women’s car quotes are 30% less than that
of their male counterparts due to the lower speeds that women are
likely to travel at. The fact that women are more likely to travel
at slower speeds means that when an accident does occur less damage
is caused.
Buying car insurance or motor insurance is important as it is legally
enforced in the UK . You are required by law to have a policy to
cover your liability to other road users. Car Insurance protects
motorists and drivers against liability in the event of accidents
they may cause. It can also provide cover for the motorist's own
vehicle. If you are the cause of an accident the car insurance company
will pay your liability to other people involved in the accident.
Car insurance is a contract between you and the insurer, specifying
each party's rights and obligations. Essentially the car insurance
company promises to provide specific coverage for you in return
for your payment of the car insurance premium.
Many different types of car insurance cover are available, ranging
from third party cover which protects individuals against liability
should they injure a third party or cause damage to a third party's
property, but does not provide any cover for the individual's own
vehicle or property, through to comprehensive cover, which can offer
protection for accidental damage, theft, fire damage as well as
liability towards third parties.
The basic legal requirement is Third Party Fire and Theft but this
will not cover you for most things that can happen to your car.
The two main types of car insurance available in the UK are:
Third Party Fire & Theft Insurance which covers the following:
- Liabilities for injuries to other people, including passengers
- Liability for damage to other people's property
- Liability of passengers for accidents caused by them
- Liability of fire and theft
Fully Comprehensive Insurance which covers the following:
- Liabilities for injuries to other people, including passengers
- Liability for damage to other people's property
- Liability of passengers for accidents caused by them
- Accidental damage to your own car excluding any excess
- A personal accident benefit
- Medical expenses up to a stated limit
- Loss or damage to personal effects in the car, up to a stated
limit
Statistically, women are the safer sex when it comes to driving.
It has been proven time and time again that women drivers are less
likely to have as severe accidents as their male counterparts, and
as such represent a better risk to the insurer. Today it is easy
for women drivers to take advantage of this fact as there are many
car insurance companies that specialise in providing car insurance
for women that offer female drivers discounts on their car insurance
policy.
There are many different factors that influence women only car
insurance; the type of car you drive, type of use, area you live
in, driving record, number of drivers to be insured, age of drivers
etc and provided with this information a good quote is likely to
be offered.
